In Lieu of Class Recap, Here's What's to Come!

Pretty soon I'm going to be starting a regular Saturday post, but until classes officially start, I figured I can use this space to tell you a little bit of what's to come! It's looking like it will be a fantastic autumn, which is exciting, because Autumn is also my favorite season! What better time of year to kick things off?

Let's start with what you can expect from this blog, and what I'll be using these Saturday posts for. It's as good a place as any, right? Well, that's just what we'll do.

On the day following each class I'll be coming here with an update on just what you missed. This will be a great place for a reminder of what we did. While I won't be posting the homework (since that's for students only), I'll be writing about what we covered and bringing up any particular thoughts that stood out clearly to me during class. If there's any links, videos, or other information that I promised to share, you'll find it here too, all listed under the category for each class.

And now for the news! Now that school is about to start and fall is getting ready to set in, we've got regular session classes starting soon. Picking up again from the spring, we've got a new session of classes at Keefe at Night in Framingham, now offered as a 12-week session. At Greater Boston School of Dance in Natick, we'll be holding both Drills and Technique for Tribal Belly Dance and American Tribal Style Level 1 in a back to back format. If you've never tried American Tribal Style (ATS), you should drop in and give it a try. Check all of it out at our Classes page in the top header. You can even register online!

As if that's not enough, we're also working on an exciting new project. Two new items are going to be available to students of Belly Dance MetroWest! We're in the process of putting together shirts with our school name and logo, which I'm enthusiastic about. This is going to be the first time I've ever offered shirts for my students, and I don't know why I didn't do it sooner!

Our new student costume is also in the works, which is coming along fantastically. I've been hard at work with my designer to turn my vision into a reality. A demo product should be ready and available for our first class session on September 7th, at which point we'll be ready to take orders in the selected colors. Each piece is designed to be high quality for use for student performances, yet comfortable enough to wear during practice, making them truly versatile garments, my favorite kind of thing to wear!

We've only got a couple of drop-in classes left as a part of our summer session before classes start in full. You can pop in and join us at the Greater Boston School of Dance on Tuesdays from 6:30-7:30. We hope to see you there!
