Do you know what this means? This means it's time to sign up for the 2019 Shimmy Mob! For the first time ever, Natick will be hosting a team of local dancers. We're looking to a great team, and I'm already making a list of potential venues for rehearsals and performances. We're hoping for good turnout this year, and there's already quite a bit of interest from our local classes!
Here's the important details:
On World Belly Dance Day, also known as May 11th 2019, dancers from around the globe will be performing the same choreography in their own home towns. We'll all be unified by the same performance gear, featuring our 2019 Shimmy Mob shirts! Don't worry, the rest is simple, and you've probably already got everything else you need! All of our host cities and towns will have performances from local dancers, friends, families, and community of all ages. Even kids are welcome to get up and dance!
What's special about this year? This year's choreography is designed with even people who have never danced before in mind. That means if you've never danced a day in your life, you can still come out and participate. There are options for everyone to get involved, from dancing to volunteering to being a donor or even sponsoring your local team!
Want to get involved? For anyone who would like to dance, donate, or volunteer, hop on over and register at the Shimmy Mob! Sign in, select your city and shirt size and you're good to go! In early January the choreography will be sent out to all participants, so you can start practicing right away. Right now there's an Early Bird special, $30 for adult dancers and $19 for youths, with an additional shipping charge for the shirts. Prices go up on January 16th, but registration will be open until March 31st!
For more details on rehearsals, registration, or even to sponsor the event, please contact us at bellydancemetrowest@gmail.com and we'll be happy to help you out.
I look forward to dancing with everyone in 2019, and I'm looking forward to a great event! I hope to see you all at rehearsals!
